신의 부름에 응답하기 위해 Southern Oregon 주의 네 젊은이는 워십과 내면에 깊은 감명을 남긴, 인류의 죄로부터 우리를 사하기 위해 예수의 몸에서 피를 흘리고 고통받았던 ‘일곱 군데 상처’(Seven Places)를 밴드명으로 정하고, 데뷔앨범 ‘Lonely for the Last Time'을 발표하게 됩니다. 앨범의 두 싱글이 라디오전파를 타게 되면서 존재가 알려지게 되었고, 밴드에게 있어서 정말 특별한 존재인 그들, 크리스찬 음악팬의 가슴속에 자신들만의 공간을 만들기 위해 주야를 불문하고 찾아다니면서 공연을 하였습니다.

두 번째 앨범 ‘Hear Us Say Jesus’ 는 음악적 성숙뿐만 아니라 메인스트림 음악시장에 오르기엔 크리스찬색이 짙은 타이틀 때문에 또한 얻게되는 부정적인 시각이 멤버들의 마음을 무겁게 했습니다만. “주와 함께 나아간다는 의미를 깨닫고 싶었고, Mercy Me 라는 밴드를 보면서 생각했습니다. 국경과 인종을 뛰어넘는 밴드를 원하신다면 그곳엔 분명 주님이 함께 하실거라고.” 밴드의 프론트맨인 Seth 는 단언합니다.

이어서 그는 “마음을 다하여 여호와께 의뢰하라. (잠언3:5), 우리는 우리가 할수있는 모든 것에 최선을 다하고 그에게 인정받기 위해 노력할 것입니다. 우리의 진정한 목표의 첫째는 그를 섬기는 것이고, 그가 우리에게 원하는 것이 무엇인지 알고있는 만큼, 그 어떤일이라도 우리는 반드시 해낼 것입니다.”

밴드는 사역을 가장 우선시하고 그 중요성을 강조하고 있습니다. 이 점은 가사에 고스란히 드러나 있으며 이런 부분이 팬들과 밴드를 끈끈하게 이어주는 요인이 되었습니다. 근래에 활동중인 다른 크리스찬 밴드들은 'Jesus' 를 직접적으로 입에 담기 부끄러워하지만, Seven Places 는 짐심으로 그와 함께 있길 희망하면서 때론 시적으로, 때론 상징적으로 주의 그림을 그리듯 찬양합니다.

앨범들은 전체적으로 즐겁고 신나는 멜로디로, 크리스찬 팬들을 격려하고 축복해주기 위해 제작되었습니다. Seth 는 말합니다. “그 분의 손은 우리의 손으로 행했던 모든 죄를 덮어주었고, 그 분의 발은 우리가 걸어온 모든 죄의 행보를 덮어주었고, 그 분의 등은 그 분으로부터 돌아선 우리의 등을 덮어주었고, 그 분의 마음은 굳어져버린 우리의 마음을 부드럽게 만들어주었습니다. 그 분의 피는 세상 모든 곳에 뿌려져 있습니다.”

밴드는 짧은 활동뒤, 2004년에 해체하면서 Glowing 앨범을 발표하였고, Seth 는 여전히 Oregon 주에서 청년 사역일을 하고 있습니다.
